Miss Madra Lord Witch, Witch(of the Gene Collection) by Mel Odom/Ashton Drake

From the well-kept collection of a meticulous Doll collector: Miss Madra Lord in "Witch, Witch, Witch" by Mel Odom / Ashton Drake. This doll is brand new and was professionally styled for this Halloween ensemble. She is in excellent condition. Her Ensemble is as well brand new and steam pressed right out of the box. The original Story Card for "Witch, Witch, Witch" as well as the Certificate of Authenticity (#62) are included in this lot.

Miss Lord wears a gorgeous Halloween costume, circa 1946. It is reminiscent of a steampunk outfit! Her traditional witch hat is made of black velvet and has a black, fishnet veil which comes to just below her eyes and can also be worn up on top of the brim. It is attached with purple hat pins, and the hat band is made of a double row of silver sequins. Around her shoulders is a Black Velvet caplet lined in bright purple silk.

It has a wide collar, and wire inside the area of the neck, so that it may be attached with nothing else needed to hold it, if so desired. Here, Miss Lord, is pictured wearing it with a matching black silk ribbon tied around it. The original neck piece made of purple glitter is included, although Miss Lord does not wear it in these photos. When she removes her caplet, she wears the black silk ribbon with side adornment around her neck instead of the purple glitter (it looks so much more classy). She also wears the jewelry, including bracelet, necklace, and earrings, that she wore in Black Widow. This jewelry is made of black, white, and clear beads.

The earrings are beaded circulars. The bracelet is single strand and attaches with a clasp. The necklace is double strand, attaches with a clasp in the back, and features a medallion-style ornament where the two strands meet at the front.

She also wears long, black, Opera length, over-the-elbow gloves. She wears the equivalent of a fitted ballerina's leotard with tutu attached, the bodice being made of black velvet with an array of silver sequins in front, the sweetheart, strapless bust being trimmed with silver adornment, with a drop waist and short, multi-layered black chiffon tutu at her hips.

Lavender-colored tulle trimmed with black thread, cascades in layers in a tiered fashion, from her hips in the front and all the way to her feet in the back. This shows off her shapely legs on which she wears black pantyhose. Her shoes are black heels with lavender colored ribbon tie backs with sequin adornment. They have been made into platforms with clear non-skid material. She also occasionally wears and/or carries a sparkly purple Halloween mask which ties in the back with black ribbon.

To finish her look, she carries a purple trick or treat bag with a picture of a witch on it, of course. (This was attached using thin, black elastic) Her fiery red hair looks beautiful, as it is styled in a half updo, traditional for the era, parted in the center, with sides swept up, and waves and curls flowing down her back. Her hair provides a lovely contrast not only to her outfit but to her complexion, and is perfect for the season of Halloween! THE STORY OF "WITCH, WITCH, WITCH".

WHAT IS GOING ON HERE? The Monolithic Studio runner delivering the costume box stood quaking in the doorway, one foot outside Madra's dressing room door, ready at any moment to beat a hasty retreat as soon as he was dismissed.

"Well, Miss Lord, " he began, voice cracking just a little, You know Mr. Since before you were born, little man -- I mean...

Madra began to sputter a little. The runner continued, spilling everything in one long breath. He wants all his stars to have a great Halloween this year so he's redecorated the Hometown Street Set and had the Costume Department make personally hand-picked costumes for each and every one of his favorite stars...

And this is how he sees me? Madra's jaw was tight. "That's not how I'd pronounce it, " muttered the runner under his breath, then he cleared his throat and said, I'm sure it's just symbolic of the MAGIC you convey on the screen, Miss Lord. You're like a sorceress whenever you appear.

Madra's muscles relaxed and she took a good look at the runner for the first time. Do you really think that's true? Well, thank you for your honest opinion, young man. By the way, are you doing anything tonight? I'll need someone to carry my trick or-treat bag...
