Miss Gene Marshall & Mr Trent Osborn in Riding Practice RARE
From the well-kept collection of a meticulous Doll collector: Miss Gene Marshall and Mr Trent Osborn in "Riding Practice" by Mel Odom / Ashton Drake. Miss Marshall's ensemble is a bespoke one of a kind, and made especially for her! Mr Osborne wears "Playing the Field" COA#31, released in 2002. These dolls and the entire lot is extremely rare to find!! Miss Gene Marshall in "Riding Practice" has been professionally styled specifically for this ensemble. This special version of "Gene" twists at the waist as well as the neck and has bendable limbs at the knees and elbows (for horseback riding). Her body shows no discoloration and is in perfect condition.

Her cute, shiny, shoulder length, chestnut brown hair has been styled circa 1955, with curls surrounding her head and framing her face. She is styled to practice side saddle horse riding, and wears a vintage style riding habit with a long skirt. Miss Marshall wears a short puffed sleeved, ivory silk and stretch taffeta blouse with a black silk bow and pink silk flower at the neck.

The blouse is attached to the skirt so that it will not ride up as she is practicing. The long skirt is made of a beautiful shiny beige chenille with a drop waist and pleats at the hips it is belted with a black sash making it look as though it were a two-piece ensemble. The black sash is tied in a bow, at the back, and also has a pink silk flower, matching the one worn at her neckline. It is fitted to her measurements exactly and is sewn on her with a simple straight stitch in the back from hip to neck.

This is easily removed with one snip of the scissors, and also easy to put on with a simple straight hand stitch. The riding habit was steam pressed for her prior to these "publicity" photos. Of course she wears nude hosiery, and black leather lace up riding boots (boots made by the Franklin mint). Her accessories include "pearl" earrings, a tan colored felt hat adorned with matching feathers and dark and light pink flower detail, with light brown net to cover her eyes if so desired, and pinned jauntily to the side with "pearl" hat pins. She carries a matching tan purse with an added black shoulder strap and flower detail which matches her hat. She also wears a pair of ivory day gloves for riding, which she can carry in her purse when she is not riding. (The hat and purse come from one of Gene's hat and purse sets, but have been redesigned specifically for this ensemble). Mr Trent Osborn has also been professionally styled for "Riding Practice". This special version of "Trent" is clean shaven and his eyes are especially light Hazel in color. His light brown eyebrows match his light brown "hair, " which dovetails in the back. He is in perfect condition, with no discoloration, and bendable limbs at the knees and elbows.

He's shown here wearing the ensemble, "Playing the Field" complete with original story card, COA # 31, and Polo stick with leather strap. He wears a tan, wool sports Blazer that is fully lined and with a red handkerchief in his top left pocket.

As well his white polo shirt bears his embroidered initial in black. He also has on white jodhpurs for riding, with a black leather belt with gold-toned buckle detail.

His jodhpurs have elastic to keep them down on his legs which he wears over his white socks. He also wears some very special custom-made boots made of real leather and real cow hair hide which lace up the back and have embroidered detail on the front. His ensemble was steam pressed for him straight out of its brand new box. Miss Marshall and Mr Osborne are pictured in various scenes which are described below. Miss Gene Marshall and Mr Trent Osborn have been acquainted for quite some time now...

They are both pleasantly surprised to find that they have each been invited to the same house party in London England that fall. During polite conversation on the first night, Gene expresses a wish to practice her side saddle English horseback riding for her next film roll. Trent, who will be playing polo with the "boys" the following afternoon, offers to find the perfect Bay mare for her to practice with in the morning.

She graciously accepts his offer and looks forward to spending a little bit of time with him. She also tells him she plans on being at his polo match to watch the fun!

Trent can't wait to show off for her... What a pleasant day they have planned..

The following morning Gene dresses in a vintage riding habit for practice. She walks to the stables after a quick cup of coffee and is delighted to find that Trent has not only found the perfect horse for her, but he has also had the horse brushed, saddled, and ready for her to ride. She allows Trent to lead her and the beautiful horse out of the stables. It is a lovely morning, and Gene finds that she is not so rusty after all.

She gets some great exercise on this young but easy to handle horse walking, trotting, galloping, and even taking a jump at the very end of her ride. He is waiting at the gate to lead her back to the stables, and helps her down from her horse. She had forgotten what a gentleman he could be...

And clean shaven, he looked so young! He excuses himself after that to ready for the polo match.

Gene walks along the fence gazing at the beautiful horse she had just ridden. She was really looking forward to seeing Trent perform in the polo match! She was glad that she had worn a stylish hat and purse with her vintage ensemble. Gene arrives at the polo match just in time to see Trent give the white ball a thwack and make a goal! It will be one that they will both always remember!

Gene and all her accessories come in her original White Ashton Drake box. Gene's doll stand is included. Trent and all his accessories come in his original white Ashton-Drake box. Trent's doll stand is also included. Bonus: as an added delight, the bay mare with the black curly mane and tail is included in this lot!

As well, the real black leather handmade English saddle with stirrups, bridle, and the blanket for the horse underneath made of real calf hair hide, are included in this lot!!
