Meet the artist: Mel Odom. Multiple award winning artist and illustrator Mel Odom was raised in tiny Ahoskie, North Carolina. Mel majored in fashion illustration at Virginia Commonwealth University, followed by graduate work at the Leeds Polytechnic Institute of Art and Design in England. Mel's captivating artwork has been widely exhibited at prestigious museums, winning several awards of excellence from the Society of Illustrators, and appearing in the New York Times Magazine, in illustrated stories by Joyce Carol Oates and Tom Robbins, and on the covers of Time and Omni magazines.

He was inspired to create Gene by his love for the luminous stars who graced the Silver Screen during the 1940's and 50's. Condition: Box was kept in the shipper for the last 24 years. Box has spots on one end.

She is mint and has never been removed from the box. Note that the tissue paper is still wrapped around her legs.
