HEALING CRYSTALS OF THE MEDICINE WOMAN Native American Porcelain Figure by Cindy McClure -Ashton Drake Galleries Yr? I have researched without luck to determine what year this collection was released by Ashton Drake but do believe she might be vintage by now. "Healing Crystals of the Medicine Woman" is a beautiful, Native American 18 tall porcelain figure created by award winning artist, sculptor and illustrator Cindy McClure for Ashton-Drake Galleries. This Indian maiden is seriously pretty and the sculpt and artistic touches infuse feminine prowess once her elaborate costume is removed. I took way too many pictures, please look at them all! Healing Crystals is the FIRST ISSUE in the WOMEN OF CRYSTAL FIRE AND LIGHT COLLECTION. She is stamped on her back "Cindy M McClure and #A0419".
She has a beautiful face, brown eyes, long lashes and full red lips. Her long black hair is shiny and soft, I ponytailed her hair to keep it out of my way while doing pics.
Her maize (the grain of Indian corn) colored faux suede fringey beaded costume is amazing, very detailed and fits her gorgeous body like a glove. She has an elaborate feather headdress, a beaded necklace, beaded purse belt, and the item she holds in her hand name? The "crystal beads" in her costume are real (CRYSTALLIZEDT with SWAROVSKI® exclusively), according to the COA provided by Ashton Drake, which I don't have.
I don't have any of the papers or the original box for Healing Crystals. This figure is almost fully porcelain, only a small portion of her is stuffed fabric, see pics. She has some poseability in her arms, mainly just turning her arms around, see how her arms are made in the pics. As always, the hands have lovely detail and the fingers already posed.The legs will pose a little, but I did not want to test her too much. Her head does turn from side to side, but notice that she is sculpted with her neck and head to one side. She was made to be barefoot, so no mocassins.
She will have the stand you see in the pics. I did display her in my bedroom, but she was not exposed to sunlight, pet or other odors.I will be listing several more Indian maidens, all Ashton Drake, all just as beautiful as this one. There were no issues that I could find with the costume or the figure.
