Ashton-Drake Mel Odom Gene Marshall doll Lovely in Lace with Cape Set is a Limited Edition #3113/5000 height 15 1/2 dressed doll, is new, never removed from the box. This fabulous ensemble was designed by Tim Kennedy. Gene is dressed in a charming evening gown with a satiny underdress, trimmed at the top with spaghetti straps, then a ruffle at the bottom of the skirt for fullness. Fantasy lace over the dress with scoop neck and layered lace sleeves.
Accents include "pearl earrings", "pearl" bracelet, ribbon lace-up shoes and seamed hosiery and a modest pair of lace panties. Gene's hair is a vision of curls and tiny blue bows. Additionally included is the stand, COA, Hang. It was designed by Etta Foran and came with its own COA which comes in the box under the cardboard layer to which the cape is attached.
The cape is full length, with a hood, lined in a beautiful blue fabric and a "Diamond" brooch closure at the neck and white "fur" trim. Additionally there is a "fur" muff, a corsage and a Holiday package(I think that is what it is but never took it out of the packaging) as accessories. This is an exceptionally beautiful fashion doll and separate outfit both of which premiered in 2000.The pictures show the quality. And fashion excellence of the doll. The designers for Mel Odom's dolls were not doll clothes designers, but fashion designers working in miniature which is why the Gene line of dolls are bigger than Barbie dolls.
The first picture is the marketing picture of Gene wearing the dress and cape; the others are of the actual doll and cape set. She is from my collection and is in excellent. Having been stored in a smoke free.
Have been removed from the plastic bag it has been in so I could photograph them along with the doll. I took the cover off the Cape box so you could see the outfit more closely and I could get to the COA. The Silver elastic still has stretch. I have included the marketing picture so you can see how the doll will look if you choose to take it out of the box and display it.Condition with a small wrinkle along one edge. This will cost more than if I removed the outfit from Its box and put it in a smaller box with the doll. I have had other buyers ask for this when they have no need for the box for the outfit. Which one is the lowest will depend on where you live and the size/weight of the box.
