Vintage Gene Marshall "Mel Loves Marsha" doll #94105 from The Ashton-Drake Galleries. Released in 2004, Mel Loves Marsha was created by Gene Marshall creator Mel Odom as a special tribute to Golden Age Hollywood actress Marsha Hunt.
Marsha Hunt personally attended the 2004 Gene Convention, where she greeted fans, making this release an especially meaningful piece of Gene Marshall history. Rather than simply being another Gene fashion, Mel Loves Marsha was specifically styled in tribute to Marsha Hunt. Her elegant white lace ensemble was based on an actual MGM publicity photograph of the actress, recreating the sophisticated Hollywood glamour of the original look. This example remains beautifully presented in its original packaging with the doll, outfit, accessories, and paperwork as shown and has never been removed from the box. A condition concern sometimes encountered with this particular vintage doll is discoloration or yellowing. We see NO VISIBLE YELLOWING on this example while she remains boxed.
Her visible complexion appears even and clean, including her face, neck, chest, arms, and hands, as shown in the photographs. Please use the detailed photographs to evaluate her condition. This piece comes from a carefully maintained adult collection. Items were kept in immaculate condition in a smoke-free, climate-controlled environment, as reflected in the photos.
